31 Day Challenge! ITS OVER

Day 31: recreate a favorite challenge. I decided to recreate stripes and dots! I really like this look, and i think that the style goes great with pastel/soft colors. So since I recently received Barry M Peach Melba and hadn't tried it yet this was a NO BRAINER..... Brainzzz (sorry zombies on my mind)

What I used: Barry M Peach Melba, White nail art pen (for dots) brush (for stripes)

This makes me happy, i know it's very spring-ish, but it's so cute!!

My husband said this is his favorite design so far! wow!

Can you believe it? i can't!! i painted my nails a different way, each day, for 31 days....O_O WOW. okay, time for a little break!!
Thanks for reading, and i hope you were inspired or at least liked some of my designs. :D

31 Day Challenge: Inspired by a tutorial

Day 30!!!! Inspired by a tutorial! I started out using Kayla Shevonne's Peakcock tutorial which is really fantastic, btw. but then i found SuPa Nail's peacock nails. I ended up being inspired by a little bit of both. and i think the results were pretty good. i want to try this again, it could get really good at them if i keep practicing!!! right?!??! :D:D:D

What I Used: Barry M Turquoise, Berry I/C, OPI DS Reflection, blue, purple and white 2 way nail art pens

hah i didn't mean to put the watermark right overtop of that nail, i wasn't paying attention when i did that one i guess! :P

so yeah these are not your typical peacock feather colors. but i loved the way they looked on Supa Nails blog.

Its my new (only) DS polish!!!

Only 1 day left. tomorrow i have to recreate my favorite challenge, I have no idea which one was my favorite!... have to do some thinking.

31 Day Challenge: Inspired by the supernatural

Day 29: Inspired by the supernatural! what a dumb idea, hah seriously if it wasn't for Halloween being next week i wouldn't have done today's theme. haha sorry, is that spoil sportish of me? oh well. Luckily this week i received the perfect color for this mani, and an awesome back crackle!

What I Used: SH Black out, Barry M 311 Nail effects (black crackle),  Mint Green, Pumpkin head glow in the dark.

This show was my inspiration. Ghost Adventures. It's so very silly. but i like it a little bit, 'cause it's on netflix.

Okay, here you will see a walking apparition, a ghost, a "spirit orb" and flying rod... hahah.. or at least that's what they call them. Oh my.

Barry M's nail effect polish won an award i think, and i can see why. Best crackle i own.

Just do you know, these DO glow in the dark, but i think the Out The Door top coat i applied may have kept them from glowing as well. i couldn't get a decent picture at all. So use your imagination! also imagine being terrified by these terrible creatures!!!

31 Day Challenge

Day 28: Inspired by a flag!

Look familiar? no? This is the flag of Bangladesh! I chose this flag because I have a sponsor child who lives in Bangladesh! she's 12 and her name is Lima. I sponsor her through Compassion International. Through their program you are essentially a child's pen pal, and you donate a certain amount of money to them each month. It's a really fun thing to be a part of, check out the link if you're interested. :D

What I Used: Essie Jelly Apple, Sinful Colors Call You Later, Happy Ending and paper reinforcement ring stickers.

These two SC greens go great together! i'd also like to put CYL over, black? yeah black!

The paper stickers work well for half moons, AND to put giant circles on your fingers. (just remember to stick them to your hand first, then to your very dry nails)

I'm so glad i decided to pick up Call You Later earlier this week. i don't even like green, but it has tiny little gold glitters in it too! and it's just sooo pretty!!! :D

Thanks for reading!

31 Day Challenge: Inspired by a pattern

Day 27: Inspired by a pattern. I did delicate pattern, tribal print, fashion (a pattern, pretty much) and now a regular pattern. my goodness, i was stumped. so i picked a new color i haven't tried and searched for a print that was already that color. (i just got a ton of new nail polish due to many swaps, my birthday, and my birthday again. Ulta giftcards for the win!)

I used Barry M Indigo (it's a little more purple in real life) and a light blue nail art pen.

my husband painted this on himself. i guess he was tired of seeing me have all the fun. right? or maybe the fumes went to his head?

31 Day Challenge: Inspired by artwork

Day 26: Inspired by artwork! I was actually supposed to do inspired by a pattern today, but i mixed up the days, so today is artwork day! it just so happens that there is an artist in my family. My brother-in-law Erik does paintings all the time, and most recently he painted a piece that is my new favorite. so i was inspired by that!

Painting by Erik Nance.

What I used: Sinful Colors Dream On, Essie Turquoise & Caicos, Essie Going Incognito, LA Colors art brushes black and white.

I love Turquoise and Caicos! I just got it in the mail today from Lacquered Me

HEHE i love the touch of purple. Nice.

My nails W/ the painting.

So what do you think of the art, what do you think of the nail art?! i really like the painting! it was a lot of fun to translate into nail art. it's not every day you get to try something like this on nails. I went to a local coffee/bakery in my town and received some compliments on my nails, so that was nice to know that even having no idea WHY i had these strange shapes/colors and one purple spot on my nails, they still looked cool. maybe my brother in law should get into the nail art business :P just kidding.

31 Day Challenge: Inspired by fashion

Day 25: Inspired by fashion! In case you don't know... fashion isn't my favorite thing in the world to keep up with. But someone i do keep up with is Nicki Minaj (super stoked about her OPI collection BTW). She wore a CRAZY outfit at Fashion Week this year. she was picked on by some, but i say it's just Nicki being Nicki. while i admit the outfit is over the top, it was very easy to be inspired by. Here's Nicki!!!

(get it gurrrl)
What i used: SH Sun Kisses, Essie Jelly Apple, Essence Mellow Yellow (i need a new yellow) Sally Girl White, SH Blue It, SH Black Out

I was mostly inspired by the last 6 rows of pom poms. (that's all that would fit :P)

I am NOT crazy about this color combo, but i had to stay true to fashion, right??

I wonder if Nicki would be proud?

haha, anyway that was fun. this would be a cute design with more colors, different colors, maybe a cool contrast-y color under it. i may be inspired by this look again. :)

31 Day Challenge: Inspired by a book

Day 24: Inspired by a book. Today's challenge was interesting! I couldn't decide if i wanted to pick a random book that would make a cool mani. or pick my actual favorite book and hope a version of the cover would be awesome. I went with the latter. The Endless Steppe is one of my all time favorite books. Here's how i was inspired by the book...!

What I Used: LA colors art deco black, Catrice ASHley, Essence Chuck, Sally Girl White

I used a matte top coat to make everything dull. like a book!

 I really like this eye.

I was trying out a new clean up brush and took a giant chunk out of the side of my thumb. sad times.

The challenge is almost over, only a few days left! I'm having a Nail Party again on Saturday. Any fun ideas for me and the girls to try/do/eat/drink??? :D
